If you’ve been wanting to take the kids ice-skating, now is the perfect time with a multitude of outdoor ice rinks popping up all around Sydney these school holidays! Complete with tobogganing, amusement rides and other wintery fun, you’re sure to have a blast. We’ve also listed permanent rinks in case they get hooked on the icy activity!

 

Winterlight, Parramatta

Get your skates on and glide into a magical winter wonderland at the heritage-listed Prince Alfred Square for Winterlight, 5-21 July.

Hosted by City of Parramatta, enjoy 16 fun-filled days at one of Sydney’s biggest winter festivals. You’ll have a ball at this festival, complete with a range of family-friendly activities, including the largest open-air rink in Sydney, dedicated kid’s rink, an elevated ice slide, illuminated Ferris wheel, free children’s activities, amusement rides, delicious gourmet food and live music at the Alpine Food Village, and more.
 

With so much on offer, Winterlight is the place to be these July school holidays! Head along to their opening night extravaganza on 5 July.

Winterfest, Luna Park

It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas at Luna Park Sydney these July holidays as Winterfest returns from 5-22 July!

The magical Ice-Skating rink is back – watch as the snow falls over the rink as you spin, twist and glide. Santa is in Park to spread the Christmas cheer all throughout Winterfest – be sure to say hello!

After chilling out on the ice and snapping a pic with the man in the big red suit, warm up with some toasty treats available all throughout Winterfest plus all your usual faves. You will be sure to leave with a belly as full as Santa!

Bondi Winter Magic

Bondi Pavilion – Queen Elizabeth Drive, Bondi Beach

 

Celebrate 10 years of Bondi Winter Magic as Bondi is set to sparkle even brighter in 2019! Bondi will once again be transformed into Sydney’s winter playground by the sea at Bondi Winter Magic! 

Go for a twirl around Sydney’s most unique ice skating rink by the ocean or check out the spectacular view from the 22 metre Ferris wheel, Bondi Vista.

The Bondi Winter Magic program also includes a magical blend of art and culture, the On The Streets series facilitated by the Bondi and Districts Chamber of Commerce. The sparkling program also includes a stroll through Bondi’s history with Waverley Councils Bondi History Walks.

From 9 – 20 July, Bondi Pavilion will also be home to Bondi Feast, a fringe-style winter festival, celebrating the best in home-grown theatre, comedy, cabaret and circus!

Ice Skating at Cathedral Square

Offering an open-air ice rink at St Mary’s Cathedral, fantastic rides, great entertainment and delicious food and drink options, Skating At Festival offers a true Winter Wonderland experience. Sessions start at 10am and run til late – from 28 June – 21 July.

Winterland Campbelltown

Koshigaya Park – Hurley St &, Camden Rd, Campbelltown

 

The popular Winterland festival will be returning to Koshigaya Park, Campbelltown 5-21 July! The amazing amusement rides will chill and thrill and the huge crystal ice rink will boast spectacular ice performances and entertainment.

Entertainment starts from 6pm including an Ice Show and. general sessions start at 7pm, running for 20 minutes every half hour. There will also be a wonderful range of rides including a Ferris Wheel, Merry-Gp-Round, Dodgem cars and more, as well as plenty of food stalls.

Snow Time in the Garden, Hunter Valley

It’s snow joke, Snow Time in the Garden, Hunter Valley is back June 29 – July 21, 2019!

The stunning Gardens will play host to a range of magical winter activities including ice skating, ice tobogganing and snowman building (in the Snow Play Zone). Plus, new this year there’s a walk-through snow cave to explore and even falling “snow” several times a day.

The Gardens’ four incredible rides*, including the Venetian carousel, 25m Ferris wheel, super speedy swing chair and giant slide will be available for the thrillseekers throughout Snow Time. There will also be a range of winter beverages and hearty winter fare on sale to help keep you toasty and warm.
