Vivid Sydney at Chatswood – Everything You Need To Know!

posted in: Life | 0

From 25th May – 16th June, Vivid Sydney at Chatswood is set to dazzle again this year with an unforgettable experience for kids and adults. Every night from 5.30pm – 10.30pm, art and light, food and fashion come together to create Lightscape – an eclectic collection of outdoor interactive art installations – all for free!

Child-friendly

This year Vivid Sydney at Chatswood offers up an unforgettable experience for kids with Lightscape, an eclectic celebration of food, fashion, light and the planet cosmos. Children’s eyes will light up as Chatswood brings magic carpet rides, trips to outer space and a musical octopus to life – there’s so much to ignite the imagination.

With a fully accessible site, an early lights-on time of 5.30pm and plenty of exciting food options, it makes Chatswood the perfect family destination.

The installations in the precinct are positioned close together making it an easy walk for children and there are no steps and plenty of space for those bringing a stroller or wheelchair.

Food

For hungry mouths, there’s plenty of family-friendly dining options throughout the precinct. Choose from Light Market, a pop-up international food market at Chatswood Mall, District Dining at Chatswood Interchange, Hawker Lane at Westfield Chatswood or one of the many restaurants on The Concourse. The wide range of cuisines, including Italian, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and more, are bound to keep everyone happy.

When to go

Head in as early in the evening as possible. Why not head in while it’s still light and grab a bite to eat first before exploring the fantastic set-up. For the fewest crowds, it is a good idea to go in the first 10 days of the event on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday.

Getting There

If travelling by car, the best places to park are Chatswood Chase Sydney, Westfield Chatswood, The Concourse and Albert Avenue car parks. Traffic may be heavy so allow plenty of extra travel time. Please check the road closures.

The Chatswood Interchange has both trains and buses. It’s the best place to start your experience because the artworks are in the interchange!
