FINAL DAYS - City of Ryde Spring Garden Competition – Children’s Seed Growing Competition

An exciting category in the 2019 Spring Garden Competition. The aim is to see who can grow the best Sunflower from seed. Age brackets for entries will be:

3 – 7 years of age
8 – 12 years of age

Once you have entered the competition, you can collect your free seed growing kit (sunflower seeds, 1 x pot, growing instructions and 2 entry tags – limit of one kit per child) from Eden Gardens from 1 July – 31 July 2019. Eden Gardens is located at 307 Lane Cove Rd, Macquarie Park. We encourage entries in the Children’s Seed Growing category to be made before 31 July to allow for maximum seed growing time. The seed planting date for the competition is from Sunday 14 July 2019. Late entry, collection of seeds and late planting will be permitted up until 31 August – however, this will reduce the seed and plant growing time.

Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival, Auburn

The award winning Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival is back in 2019, bringing you a festival all about food, flowers and feeling good.

The 2019 Sydney Blossom Festival will be held across 9 days commencing on Saturday 17 August and continuing to Sunday 25 August 2019.

There are different themes and entertainment for weekends and weekdays so be sure to pick a day that’s best for you.

Kids Day – Sydney Cherry Blossom Festival 2019

A fun day for the little ones and their parents to see the blossoms.

How much: Various – tickets for residents of Cumberland Council and children under 16 are free. Proof of age or residential address will be required.

Women aged 50-74 who live and work in City of Ryde can get a free breast screen on the BreastScreen NSW mobile van.

The enhanced mobile van, which includes the latest mammography technology, is making sure women receive lifesaving breast screens.

A mammogram appointment takes only 20 minutes and it’s free. Our friendly staff are happy to answer any questions or concerns.

You can find our mobile van at Ryde Civic Centre opposite Top Ryde City Shopping Centre from now until 20 September.
