Here we are, the RDM Admin and Moderators at our Christmas Party dinner at Miguel’s Tapas Bar in Gladesville. The restaurant, having only opened a few weeks earlier, seemed like the perfect place to get our celebration on while simultaneously getting the “scoop” for RDMs.
We think the very first thing to point out is that the owner of Miguel’s is a local mum and RDM! Her name is Karmen and she is lovely. Karmen is a chef who has been working in the industry for many years. Recently, she and her husband made the huge decision to take a leap of faith and open their own restaurant. Enter Miguel’s Tapas Bar (named after their Son, just to make the story even more gorgeous!).
For our dinner, we were seated in the outdoor courtyard located at the back of the restaurant. It had a lovely feel, and admirably, was all built by Karmen’s partner – tables, fencing and all. The fairy lights and the repurposed fittings gave an old world charm – you’d never think busy Victoria Road was just on the other side of the building!
After chatting for forever, we finally picked up the menu and ordered as best we could, given everything sounded delicious. Within 10 minutes, share plates starting coming thick and fast, each plate more delicious than the last!
The croquetas were to die for, the watermelon salad was absolutely mouthwatering, as were the prawns and meatballs. They now have tasting plates too which look fantastic, as do the churros (still upset we forgot to order those!). You can find the rest of their menu options here.
Miguel’s is open every night for dinner, expcet Monday and they now offer lunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11am. On weekdays (Tues – Fri) you can still get your lunchtime fix via UberEATS. PERFECT PCINIC FARE!
Thanks Miguel’s! A very enjoyable evening was had and we WILL be back!
