North Ryde Park

posted in: Life, Parks & Playgrounds | 0

Although it’s location could be confused for East Ryde, as confirmed by its name, North Ryde park is definitely in North Ryde! This park will win you over immediately based on one very important factor – shade! Not only are there multiple shade sails but there are also many mature trees to provide coverage as well.

It’s not FULLY fenced BUT it has a shin-high wooden perimeter on the roadside and the other side of the playground faces a grass area and fenced sports field. This park would be pretty busy during Saturday sport, that’s for sure.

There is a good variety of play equipment that will suit little kids and big kids alike. For the little ones, there is a car they can sit in and pretend to drive plus of course the all-time classic swings (baby swing included), a see-saw and a tub spinner.

The rest of the equipment is suited to adventurous or confident kids aged 4/5+ up to around 10 years. There’s plenty to climb including:

  • rock climbing
  • balancing rope ladders
  • frames to climb
  • rope ladders
  • a tall slide

This playground also has a few bonuses:

  • soft fall ground, which we would all agree beats bark!
  • the path circling the play equipment is great for scootering
  • the oval next to the play area provides plenty of space to kick a ball or throw a frisbee
  • with a great undercover picnic table, BBQs and toilets (about 60m away, North Ryde park would be a great one for hosting a party!

Getting There

North Ryde Park is located at 145 Cressy Road. There is plenty of street parking on the corner of Cressy and Magdala Road.
