So what was meant by 90% finished is that the shade sail is yet to be installed. We got in touch with Ryde Council who confirmed there was a delay in contruction and the sail should be in by April 2018.
Now for the description! Let’s start with the swings. Do you remember the black baby swings where you could fit 2 small kids in back to back? Kind of like a DIY tandem swing. Well DIY no more. Mulhall Park has a proper tandem swing, which our kiddie crew road tested and gave a “two thumbs up” rating. An equally popular feature of the park was the voice tubes – the kids enjoyed yelling into the pipes for quite some time!!
At the base of the park you will find some logs for the kids to jump on and balance across. At the top of the park you will see an impressive set up inclduing:
- a double slide
- rock climbing wall
- rope wall
- stairs with a cubby house underneath
- rolling circles for the little kids
- a ramp
- a froggy bouncer
- the aforementioned tandem swing plus the baby swing.
It does have the dreaded bark ground but you will be pleased to know that moving forward Ryde Council is phasing out bark groundand only installing soft fall ground.
Parking and Accessibility
Firstly, parking is easy – it’s all street parking in and around the park. In terms of accessibility, there is a footpath from the kerb that winds around most of the park.
This is a great park – just gorgeous with is beautful sandstone edges, and once the shade sail goes up it will be absolutely fantastic!
