Lions Park, West Ryde

If you live in Ryde you’ve probably driven past Lions Park many a time over the years but until its recent renovation never actually noticed it! It’s now rather noticeable from Victoria Road and has been on our hit-list for a while. So one afternoon we stopped by. Entry is from Shaftsbury Road, where you will be led through to ample parking.

There’s loads of play equipment including:

  • a sandpit with equipment for moving sand

  • a climbing pyramid

  • a slide for toddlers

  • plenty of swings

  • a scooter/bike track

  • a half basketball court

Also, and very importantly, there are:

  • toilets (under renovation while we were there)

  • tables and lots of seating

  • BBQ’s (2)

  • easy pram access

Overall, Lions Park is actually a pretty cool park with lots of fun stuff to do for the kiddies. It’s well laid out, spacious and flat and that there’s a big grassy area for the kids to burn some energy for example by way of cartwheels or exuberant dance moves. The noise of Victoria Road isn’t as bad as you might think and from the park you can hardly see the road. We were was pleasantly surprised by this park and would definitely recommend it! Check out our rating below these images.
