Are you part of or have you been part of a political party? If so, which one?

No

Tell us a bit about you and your team. What’s your day job?

Lee Malkoun was born and raised in Ermington, educated at St. Mary’s Rydalmere and St. Patrick’s Marist College, Dundas, where Lee is now a teacher. Lee has a double degree in Business and Secondary Education. Lee started a charity that only helps the unfortunate people in our great city, in particular our ward, to date we have donated over $13,500 in vouchers and groceries. Lee is involved with all the sporting clubs in the area and his aim is to provide them with the best facilities possible. Lee works with small businesses in the area to achieve success, especially those in our neighbourhood shopping precincts. Family safety is imperative, so Lee intends on installing CCTV in our public areas and the reintroduction of the neighbourhood watch program.

Filena Lovisa, also a long time resident is the owner of a very successful family business, Oatlands Takeaway. Her family provide a great service to the community including sponsorship of local sporting teams and charitable appeals.

Souzie Wehbe is also a teacher at St. Patricks Marist College, Dundas. A mother of 4 children who has also resided locally for many years. Her children attend local schools and her family are very active in the local community.

What are some things you love about living in the area?

Parramatta is geographically central, giving us easy access to most parts of Sydney via the motorways, train and bus networks. We have a brand new stadium and developing CBD.
Our suburbs are filled with great parks, walkways, neighbourhood shopping precincts and families who just add to its greatness.
I’ve loved the area since I was a little kid, seeing the changes and enjoying the parks and facilities.

What do you believe to be the 3 main issues affecting our community?

  1. The emergence of boarding houses
  2. The congested suburban streets
  3. Closure of small business due to covid lockdowns

What are the 3 key things you plan to achieve?

  1. Slash red tape, encourage and support small business success.
  2. Seek planning reforms to reduce suburban street congestion.
  3. Ensure CCTV is installed in all suburban shopping precincts and offer a 1 time reduced council rate notice to those who install CCTV to their properties.

What about your long term vision for the area?

An area that embraces its history, Parramatta has a rich history dating back to settlement. We can’t afford to sell off any further assets or damage historical sites. I want our parks reserves to have the most up to date facilities, encouraging the athletes of tomorrow. I want our road and footpaths to be constantly maintained so we have streets to be proud of. I envision our area to remain very much a safe family area under my guidance.
