The Sydney Brick Show 2018
21-22 April 2018, Penrith Panthers Pavilion

Lovers of LEGO® are set to converge on Penrith this April school holidays, as The Sydney Brick Show, Sydney’s largest LEGO® fan event, heads to Sydney’s West for the first time. As LEGO® celebrates its 60th birthday, Penrith Panthers Pavilion will become a plastic brick wonderland with over 100 exhibits on display, most being unique creations straight from the imaginations of their builders.

A highlight of this years event will be a massive space themed build (5 x 2 metres), a collaboration showcasing the work of 12 members of the Sydney LEGO User Group. The show’s mascot, an innocent spaceman named Apollo, finds himself on a distant world where a rare ore named LEGOtonium has been discovered; It’s a tough frontier with all manner of aliens trying to discover their plot of LEGOtonium. Creativity and humour collide in this amazing piece, which includes ‘Bacon City’ the city corner where heroes and scum ‘meat’ over the infamous outer rim wings and space hotdogs. The details and jokes hidden in this display will entertain children and adults alike.

The collaborative builds continue, with almost all exhibitors coming together to make a world record attempt for the highest number of LEGO® Minifigure Habitats (small dioramas for LEGO® characters) displayed, being more than 1090!

A fitting celebration of the Minifig’s 40th anniversary this year. Celebrating another anniversary, 100 years of ‘Disney on Ice’, is a husband and wife collaboration that brings to life the fictional ‘All Star Arena’ precinct, including the ice rink with show in progress.
Conscious of their responsibility to ignite the next generation’s passion for LEGO®, show organisers hold an annual children’s building competition in the lead-up to the event, (with winning entries on display on Saturday 21 April). Along with providing a free building area with LEGO® graffiti wall, a remote controlled LEGO® Crawler race track, and meet-and-greets with costumed characters.

Attracting thousands of visitors each year, The Sydney Brick Show is an experience appreciated by fans and newcomers of all ages. LEGO® is more than a toy for children, it is a hobby and building material for enthusiasts of all ages, as demonstrated by the AFOLs (Adult Fans of LEGO®) who build throughout the year to exhibit new and unique creations our annual show.

“We go every year and every year we are amazed! There is so much to see and do, and for days
after, all the kids want to do is build.” – Karen, mother of 3.
