WHAT IS ELECTRONIC WASTE?

Electronic Waste (or e-waste) is any electronic equipment that is no longer useful as originally intended such as computers, mobile phones, televisions, fax machines etc.
E-waste should not be placed in your red lidded garbage bin as toxic substance can leach into the environment when processed or landfilled.

WHY SHOULD WE RECYCLE UNWANTED E-WASTE?

Australians are among the highest users of technology, and e-waste is one of the fastest growing types of waste. Every time e-waste is disposed of to landfill, valuable recyclable materials (such as copper and silver) are lost forever and toxic substances (such as lead and mercury) can leach into the environment.

HOW TO RECYCLE E-WASTE

E-waste cannot be recycled via the yellow lid recycling bin system. You can recycle e-waste through the following correct channels.
