Blak Markets NAIDOC Art Fair

The Blak Markets is set to host the National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in The Rocks, Sydney on 30 June – 1 July 2018, to kick off celebrations ahead of NAIDOC Week 2018.

Held across two days, the National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair offers remote Indigenous art centres and artists the opportunity to promote and sell their work in Sydney alongside 30 Blak Markets local stallholders.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists from 22 remote art centres in the Northern Territory, South Australia and Western Australia will bring their artworks, sculptures, textiles and accessories to Sydney to exhibit, sell and host workshops demonstrating their unique arts and cultural practices.

In addition to the art fair, the vibrant market will feature the renowned Blak Markets program of bush tucker cooking demonstrations, live music, weaving and cultural workshops, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander dance performances.

The National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair is presented by the Blak Markets, a social enterprise arm of First Hand Solutions, and is supported by the Australia Council and the NSW Government via its tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW, in proud partnership with the Port Authority of NSW.

The National Indigenous NAIDOC Art Fair will be held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, The Rocks on Saturday, 30 June and Sunday, 1 July 2018 at 10am to 5pm. Entry is free.
