Dunbar Park, Marsfield

Would you consider your child to be a bit of a ninja warrior? In that case, Dunbar Park playground might be perfect for them! The set up provides a great little course that the kids can practice over and over again. #bingo

Dunbar park is home to Ryde Little Athletics and an athletics field which is popular with local schools. Nestled amongst tall trees in the corner of the park is the lovely playground. Being that it’s a little hidden from the road, it isn’t usually choc-a-block full of people but whenever Little Athletics is on, you might find it tricky to get a car park.

Now for the Ninja Warrior equipment we’ve been talking about! You’ll find:

  • Slide within a wooden structure consisting of wooden climbing walls (x2) and podium
  • Balancing wooden logs + balancing wooden steps
  • Wooden bridge
  • Monkey bars
  • Swings
  • Music with a drum and rainbow musical instrument

There is also a disability swing called the Liberty Swing which has direct access from Koorong Street. It is available to anyone with a disability who has an access key. You can get the key from Council – call 9952 8222 for more information.

The playground has excellent shade coverage from the canopy of mature trees that surround it, and slots in beautifully with it surrounds given the equipment is mostly made from wood.

Dunbar park is very pram friendly with great footpath access all the way up to and around the playground. It has a bubbler, plenty of seating, a picnic table and BBQs. There is also a toilet but it is not close by to the playground.

Getting There

Dunbar Park is located on Sobraon Road in Marsfield but it is best accessed via Cherry Court as the playground is at the top end of the sports field behind Minimbah.
