Sometimes… occasionally… rarely, we mums do non-mum things. The RDM Admins and Moderators recently participated in one such non-mum activity, heading out for dinner at Hattrick, Macquarie Centre. Yes, we’ve been there for breakfast before, which you can read all about here, but this time we swapped babycinos for wine.
Let me set the scene.
5 women, a Thursday night, lipstick applied, clutch bags at the ready – off we trotted on our merry way. If you haven’t been to Hattrick, you’ll definitely have seen it upon approach to Macquarie Centre – it’s the building with the tall glass windows on Waterloo Road.
Inside, the fit out is very trendy, the room is spacious and in the evenings the mood lighting is on point. Once we were seated, the friendly wait-staff tried to take our order a few times but of course, we were YABBERING ON AND ON AND ON and hadn’t even looked at the menu since sitting down 15 minutes earlier. Eventually, the lovely owner Brendan, who can always be spotted buzzing around one of his three Love Life Productions eateries at Macquarie Centre (Hattrick, Vogue Cafe The Missing Piece) offered to choose for us, for which we were much obliged.
Fast forward 10 minutes and we all had a Rosé in one hand (except preggo Bianca) and Chicken Popcorn in the other, feeling very glad to have let Brendan take the reigns. Six tasty “share-style” dishes later, which included but of course was not limited to meatball sliders, potato cakes and churros with chocolate dipping sauce (drool!!), we left well and truly satisfied and somewhat tipsy.
Hattrick shows the same creative flair as other two venues but is just a little bit more ‘grown-up’. We were really impressed by their range of cocktails, mocktails and wines, and loved that they offered both share plates and al-a-carte. A great option for date night, ladies night, after work drinks or any other version thereof.
Thank you for hosting our dinner, Hattrick! We will be back!
