There is no greater time of the year to get to know your community than Christmas. Here are 14 events to enjoy with your family and friends.


North Ryde Community Twilight Market

When: Saturday 24th November 2018, from 4 – 8pm

Where: North Ryde Community Uniting Church, 6-8 Cutler Parade, North Ryde

These markets provide a place where the community can meet, shop and socialise while supporting stall holders selling high-quality produce and products and hand-made and bespoke arts and crafts, soft furnishings and apparel. This event offers an opportunity to relax within beautifully-maintained grounds as you enjoy a coffee or Devonshire tea, tempted by the wafting aroma of sausages on the BBQ (vegetarian options available).

Light Up East Ryde

When: Sunday 25th November 2018, from 3 – 8pm

Where: Sager Place, East Ryde

On Sunday 25 November from 3pm to 8pm, Sager Place East Ryde is going to be lit, literally! Join the Rotary Club of Ryde for a festive afternoon of food, shopping and fun culminating in the lighting of the area.

Sager Place will be buzzing with market stalls packed with goodies for Christmas, food stalls with everything from dumplings to pizza plus free face painting, a petting zoo for the kids and a Santa Cave.

Ryde District Mums Twilight Christmas Market

When: Wednesday 28th November 2018, from 5.30 – 9.30pm

Where: The Governor Hotel Rooftop Bar, 9 Waterloo Road Macquarie Park

Our Annual RDM Twilight Christmas Market is back and it’s set to be FAB! Join us on Wednesday 28th November from 5.30pm – 7.30pm or 7.30pm – 9.30pm (two sessions to chose from) @ ESS Rooftop bar, The Governor Hotel, Macquarie Park

Fair Trade Christmas Markets, Chatswood Mall

When: Saturday 1st December 2018, from 10am – 4pm

Where: Chatswood Mall, Victoria Avenue

This popular Fair Trade Christmas Market is back! This is the place to find your ethically sourced handcrafted gifts with an inspirational story. Give twice this Christmas by kicking off a chain reaction of goodwill. Choose to spend your money where it can make a real difference by supporting opportunities for economically disadvantaged artisans, farmers and producers.

Carols in the Park – Boronia Park, Hunters Hill

When: Sunday 2nd December 2018,  from 6pm – 9pm

Where: Boronia Park Ovals, corner Ryde Road and Park Road

Carols in the Park is a free community event, held in Boronia Park, Hunters Hill on the first Sunday in December. Carols in the Park will have lots of different performances from bands, choirs and individual performers. The evening finishes with Santa and a spectacular fireworks display at 9pm.

Bring your friends and family, have a picnic and enjoy the music and sing-a-long!

Christmas Outdoor Stories and Songs, Top Ryde

When: Friday 7th December 2018, from 10.30am – 11am

Where: Piazza Dining, Top Ryde City Shopping Centre

Join the City of Ryde in the Top Ryde CIty Piazza for Christmas Stories & Songs – a fun filled session with songs, stories and more! All ages welcome. Don’t forget your hats and sunscreen.

Epping Christmas Pool Party

When: Saturday 8th December 2018, from 12.30pm – 4.30pm

Where: Epping Aquatic Centre – 26 Stanley Road, Epping 

Grab some friends, family and sunscreen, and get ready to make a splash! City of Parramatta invites you to Epping Aquatic Centre for a Christmas Pool Party!

This all-ages event includes free entry into the Epping Aquatic Centre plus free activities such as:

  • a visit from Santa
  • Giant inflatable water slide
  • Face painting and balloon twisting
  • Active Parramatta activities
  • Reptile show
  • Free popcorn and fairy floss
  • DJs
  • Games and giveaways

There will be food and drink available for purchase, including kiosk hot food, snacks, cold drinks, coffee and ice cream.

Dundas Telopea Anglican Church Community Carols

When: Saturday 8th December 2018, 5 – 8pm

Where: Dundas Public School, Kissing Point Road.

Share the joy of Christmas with us at Dundas Community Carols. It starts with 5pm family fun followed by 7pm carols on the oval. There’ll be a puppet show, petting zoo, Nerf challenge, face painting, giant games alley, photo booth, BBQ and coffee cart!

City of Ryde Community Christmas Celebration 

When: Sunday 9th December 2018, from 3pm – 7pm

Where: Ryde Park – Cnr Princes St and Blaxland Rd Ryde

Join City Of Ryde for a Beach themed Christmas celebration in beautiful Ryde Park. Make sure the kids have their list ready for Santa and their cozzies and towels for the water rides.

Carols in the Park – Carlingford/Epping 

When: Sunday 9th December 2018, from 5 – 9pm

Where: Boronia Park, 37 Bridge St Epping

There will be an array of stalls from charities to food vendors. Head in early to see how you can support local efforts, grab a bite and save yourself a good seat. The much-loved Carols in the Park is Epping’s premier community event that the whole family will love, finishing off with a spectacular fireworks display.

Rotary Beecroft Carols by Candlelight

When: Monday 10th December 2018, from 5:30 – 8.30pm

Where: Beecroft Village Green, Beecroft Road, Beecroft

FREE ENTRY! Bring the family along and join in for a wonderful evening of Christmas Carols. Kids are welcome to dress up as Santa’s Elves & Angels (U8). Enjoy dancing, singing and face painting with Groovy Suzy while waiting for Santa. 

Bring a blanket, chairs and even a picnic or support the local Scouts and enjoy their sausage sizzle, soft drinks, ice cream or coffee.

Carols in the Crescent, Parramatta

When: Saturday 15th December 2018, from 6.30pm – 8.30pm

Where: The Crescent, Parramatta Park – Pitt Street & Macquarie Street

Join in on the Christmas fun at City of Parramatta’s free, all-star carols concert for the community! Hosted by Guy and Jules Sebastian, Carols in the Crescent will feature some of the finest voices in the country belting out your all-time favourite festive songs and Christmas classics. Don’t miss an appearance from Santa, a grumpy Christmas Grinch character, kids’ rides and food stalls.

Bring a picnic rug, gather your family and friends, and get your singing voices ready!

Carols on the Common, North Ryde

When: Sunday 16th December 2018, from 5.30pm – 9.30pm

Where: North Ryde Common – Corner Wicks and Twin Rd North Ryde


Enjoy an authentic carols experience at Sydney’s second largest Christmas Carols in the heart of Ryde. Don’t forget to bring a picnic blanket and some nibbles! Food will be sold by a range of food vendors on the night. This year we have more food stalls that we’ve ever had before. Rides, face-painting and other amusements will be available from 5:00 pm onwards. It’s best to bring cash, as cards may not always be accepted.

North Rocks Carols by Candlelight

When: Friday 21st December 2018, from 5pm – 9pm

Where: North Rocks Park (cnr of Farnell Ave & North Rocks Rd)

Family entertainment from 5pm – jumping castle (under 12’s), live performers and more. Food available from 5.30pm – international food, coffee snow cones, BBQ and much more. Carol singing from 7:30pm with a visit from Santa.
