Craving an epic adventure these school holidays? Head to the Australian Museum for a prehistoric party at the annual Dinosaur Festival. You’ll see, hear, touch, and even smell the world of dinosaurs in this interactive experience that’s a mind-boggling 75 million years in the making. Roam the gallery of skeletons, skulls, teeth, claws and fossils; watch life-sized dino puppets spring into action; discover ancient Australia while making your own dino diorama, and learn about the evolution of dinosaurs to birds in a thrilling theatre performance. Best of all, you can channel your inner Indiana Jones and become a palaeontologist for a day with our hands-on workshop. Roarsome!

Entry to the museum is free for children under 16 years. Some activities incur a charge.

Over the long weekend – Friday 28th September until Monday 1st October, there will be 4 fantastic films shown.

Enjoy these blockbusters under the stars, teamed with delicious beverages that can be purchased from Bar Didier, scrumptious baguettes and paella from Le Village, and a delectable platter for 2 from The Platter Project. It isn’t a movie night without popcorn, choc tops and lolly bags, so make sure you save room for these treats as well!

Each film will commence at 6:15 pm, but it is recommended that you come down as early as 4 pm to enjoy the spring sunshine, perch yourselves in a prime spot, and purchase a bean bag if you wish!

Tumble into the wonderful world of circus these school holidays with Gravity & Other Myths in a brand new acrobatics workshop for ages 5-12 years.

Acrobat’s Academy is a rare opportunity for kids to meet and learn from the world-renowned acrobats of Gravity & Other Myths. Guided by these highly acclaimed artists, kids will exercise skills of coordination, strength, teamwork and self-expression in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

In a 90-minute session, participants will watch an excerpt from A Simple Space â€“ a multi-award winning show that has been performed more than 500 times across 24 countries. Following this inspiring performance, kids will divide into smaller groups to warm up and explore their physical potential through movement games, floor-based acrobatics and group acrobatics.

No previous experience is required – Acrobat’s Academy is an inclusive workshop where all skill levels are welcome. Following the sold-out season of April’s holiday workshop program, booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Acrobat’s Academy is Gravity & Other Myth’s first dedicated children’s workshop program in Sydney and is presented by Barangaroo Delivery Authority as part of a year-round program of leading-edge events and inspirational public art.

Join a like-minded group of people with a live guided meditation once a fortnight on a Tuesday evening from 7pm to 8pm.

A different subject is covered each time, and the atmosphere is very easy going. We have a wonderfully supportive group with many different levels of experience so even if it’s your first time you will feel comfortable and simply enjoy the time to sit with such a warm and inviting group.

Meditation nights can be attended on a casual basis so you can pay as you go, or buy a 10 session pass for $200.

Time: Doors will be open at 6.45pm and locked at 7pm sharp, the meditation will finish around 8.15pm.

Adult Glee Club - Weekly Singing Group, GORDON

Do you enjoy singing? Or are you interested in trying a new activity that sees you do more than just shower singing and carpool karaoke?

Come and join this growing group of diverse adults who come together to sing various well-known songs while having a good time. Our Gordon based Adult Glee Club has mums from the Ryde and Northern Districts areas participating, and we’re always on the look out for new members to join our weekly singing group. Expect to sing anything from pop to rock, musical theatre, golden oldies and event the odd current hit.

There’s no auditions, no experience needed. Just a willingness to give it a try and have a good time while doing so. It’s so healthy for the body and mind to sing regularly and lowers stress levels and anxiety. The people are welcoming and if you’ve never sung in a choir or group before, don’t be scared. Our choir directors are very welcoming and will ensure you improve over time (even if you think you can’t).

If you haven’t the time for a long series or just want an overview of the issues to be aware of, come along for these three, weekly, one hour long presentations.

In this final session, you will see how to tie together the different strands that have been discussed.  Still useful if you missed the preceding sessions.

Presenters bring post-graduate qualifications and over twenty years of experience.  Question and Answer time included.
