Tumble into the wonderful world of circus these school holidays with Gravity & Other Myths in a brand new acrobatics workshop for ages 5-12 years.

Acrobat’s Academy is a rare opportunity for kids to meet and learn from the world-renowned acrobats of Gravity & Other Myths. Guided by these highly acclaimed artists, kids will exercise skills of coordination, strength, teamwork and self-expression in a fun and supportive atmosphere.

In a 90-minute session, participants will watch an excerpt from A Simple Space – a multi-award winning show that has been performed more than 500 times across 24 countries. Following this inspiring performance, kids will divide into smaller groups to warm up and explore their physical potential through movement games, floor-based acrobatics and group acrobatics.

No previous experience is required – Acrobat’s Academy is an inclusive workshop where all skill levels are welcome. Following the sold-out season of April’s holiday workshop program, booking early is recommended to avoid disappointment.

Acrobat’s Academy is Gravity & Other Myth’s first dedicated children’s workshop program in Sydney and is presented by Barangaroo Delivery Authority as part of a year-round program of leading-edge events and inspirational public art.

The market is held twice a month on the 1st & 3rd Saturday of each month in Halvorsen Park, and features an exciting line up of high-quality fresh food, drink, artisan and handmade stalls.

Halvorsen Park is right by the river, offering a beautiful backdrop for browsing through stalls, enjoying the delicious food and drink on offer, and catching up with friends and family.

How do I book?

Bookings can be made and paid online via this link: https://onlineevent.com.au/event/meadowbank-public-school/meadowbank-public-school-garage-sale/ or you can pay with cash at Meadowbank Public School, please enclose $30 in an envelope marked ‘community garage sale’ and include your name, email and phone number.

What size is the space?

Each stall will be provided with a trestle table, approximately 2400mm x 700mm you are welcome to cover the table and floor under and in front of your stall with your second-hand goods.

What is the timing?

Stallholders can set up from 7.30am. The event will be open to the public from 9am – 1pm.

Who can book a stall?

Families from Meadowbank Public School and the general public are welcome to book a stall. This is a family event, children are welcome to help sell on your families stall, however, children need to be supervised at all times.

How do I get my items to my stall?

There will be no vehicle access to the school before and during the garage sale. You will need to carry all items to your stall. Parking is available in the surrounding streets.

What can I sell?

The aim of this event is to give you an opportunity to sell items that you no longer need. You can sell any new or used items such as toys, books, clothes, household items, tools or other treasures. If you are selling electrical items, you will need an electricians certificate certifying that the item is in working order. No food, drinks or confectionary may be sold on the stalls.

Where is it held?

At Meadowbank Public School, Thistle St Ryde. Tables will be set up in the hall and playground. You will be allocated a table, please report to the organisers on the day when you arrive to be directed to your table.
How much is it for a stall?
$30

What other stalls will there be?

Meadowbank Public School will be selling food and drinks by running a BBQ, cake, tea and coffee stall.

What else should I bring?

You may like to bring a folding chair to sit on. Also, make sure you bring along a money box and enough change for your customers.

Wet Weather?

Most stalls will be under cover so the event will continue in wet weather.

What do I do with my unsold items?

At the end of the event, you will need to take home any of your unsold items. There will not be rubbish bins available to dispose of your items. The Melrose Park Market Day has been a key event in the diaries of the local community for years.

This year the annual Market Day is having a transformation in title, timing and features. There will still be plenty of the old favourites on offer, along with some new and exciting attractions, so come and join in the fun!

The new look Family Fun Day will have lots of artisan and gourmet market stalls, a cake competition on offer and of course last year’s favourite, the dunk tank, will be back but with a twist.

Rides this year will include a horizontal bungee, laser tag, a giant inflatable slide and a dragon coaster! There will also be rock climbing on the wristband this year for any adventurous kids.
