Concord West Playground, Bicentennial Park

Bicentennial Park is no ordinary park. It stretches across a 40-hectare natural heritage site and features an important wetland ecosystem and parklands. We spent 2 hours there and only managed to see a small part of what it had to offer!

First, we visited the playground. It is very big and is broken up into a few sections with facilities for both older and younger children including:

  • swings
  • a slide
  • flying fox
  • cubby house
  • monkey bars
  • a grid hopper game
  • tunnels

Right outside the playground, there are also heaps of other great features including:

  • a mini scooter/bike track
  • half basketball court
  • loads of tables and seating
  • a BBQ area
  • toilets
  • Egret Pavilion which can be hired for parties

Beyond the playground, there is so much more to see and do. We strolled through the mangroves and the beautifully landscaped grounds, past the oh-so-tall viewing tower and through the water fountains (the kids couldn’t resist and got soaked) to rest in a lovely manicured garden.

We didn’t even get to the other playground (Village Green).. or the bike hire area.. or the Waterview Cafe… maybe next time!

Getting there

Bicentennial Park is located within Sydney Olympic Park. To drive to Concord West playground, you enter the park from Victoria Ave, Concord. There is a carpark there with plenty of unmetered parking.
