Our Favourite Local Parks to Host a Party

Even if you have the space at home, sometimes it’s nice to host a party at the park. Your house maintains the status quo, the kids burn energy galore and you get to soak up some glorious vitamin D (hopefully!). Here’s a list of local parks that we think have the icing on the (birthday) cake when it comes to hosting a party AKA they have at a minimum:

  • toilets,
  • tables
  • BBQ

 

ANZAC Park, West Ryde

If you haven’t been to ANZAC Park recently, you need to check it out! It’s had a fantastic upgrade and now features everything you could want to host a great party including lots of parking, BBQs, toilets and seating.

Banjo Paterson Park, Gladesville

This lovely, peaceful spot on the water has a modern playground, BBQs and tables but you might need to consider bringing picnic blankets or a marquee to fully mark your territory as it is popular (for good reason!).

Bicentennial Park, Concord West

Bicentennial Park has so much to offer including multiple areas/pavilions to host parties. It is such a gorgeous space, a party here will be sure to impress.

ELS Hall Park, North Ryde

This is a wonderful, neat and tidy playground that is perfectly suited to parties but you might need to get in early to reserve the tables available!

Golden Grove Bicentennial Park, West Pymble

Golden Grove Park is a lovely setting for a party that kids aged 2-10 will adore. There is a great undercover picnic area, access to coffee at the Aquatic Centre, plus pathways for bikes and scooters!

Kings Park, Denistone East

The brand new playground has loads of sheltered seating, wheelchair-accessible toilets with a baby change table, BBQs, lots of grass and of course those brand new feels!

Kissing Point Park, Putney

This riverside park is a popular spot for picnickers, and why not! It has a BBQ, toilets, picnic tables and plenty of grass to claim as your own. Don’t forget to bring scooters and bikes to this awesome spot!

Lachlan’s Line Park, Macquarie Park

Young skaters will love a party at Lachlan’s Line which includes a small skate park and some other fun equipment for kids aged 1-8 years.

Livvi’s Place, Yamble Reserve, Ryde

Livvi’s Place, Ryde is an AWESOME spot for a kid’s party but it seems this is a well-known fact! Tables have been known to be ‘taken’ for parties from 5am in the morning on weekends!

Lions Park, West Ryde

Plenty of tables, barbecues and parking for the adults, plus plenty of activities and space for the kiddies. Don’t let Victoria Road put you off this gem as there is a sturdy fence and lots of shielding trees.

This one is a very popular picnic spot and we can see why. There’s plenty of green space to sprawl out on, lovely views and two great playgrounds to boot.

Meadowbank Skate Park

This awesome park has everything you could possibly need for a party for kids ages both younger and older. The skate park could be a perfect place for a 9 or 10 year old’s party, but you’ll need to get in early to secure the two picnic tables near the bbq!

Memorial Park, Meadowbank

Another river-side spot with plenty of grass and a gorgeous playground. RDMs have hosted 3 Easter egg hunts at this park so it’s definitely on the fave list!

Mindarie Park, Lane Cove North

This fully fenced, inclusive playground has equipment for all ages and has a sweet nature theme. Outside the fenced area is a grassy area, BBQs and brand new toilet block.

Ollie Webb Reserve, Parramatta

This brand new inclusive playground is perfectly suited to a party, with something for everybody, which is the whole aim of the ‘Touched by Olivia’ foundation design. In more good news, it is fully fenced, there are bubblers and there’s plenty of parking.

Strathfield Park

This HUGE playground has enough equipment to keep everyone occupied for HOURS. Suggest a time to re-group for cake because the grounds are expansive!

With a skate zone, older kids play equipment, younger kids play equipment, basketball courts, toilets, BBQs, multiple shaded picnic tables, a grassy area and lots more on offer, West Epping park is a wonderful party venue option for any child.
