Floriade – Australia’s biggest celebration of spring – returns to Canberra for the 30th year from Saturday 16 September until Sunday 15 October 2017.
This year Floriade celebrates its 30th birthday and it seems only fitting that this year’s theme is ‘rejuvenation’. Complete with warmer weather, spring brings renewal, revival, growth and change.
Spot On Children’s Festival
Spot On Children’s Festival is returning this school holidays to take over Riverside Theatres in Sydney’s Central City, Parramatta, with five days of wonderful entertainment for the whole family.
Choose your own curious adventure from a program featuring live theatre shows, movie screenings, music performances and free activities.
Highlights include Grug and the Rainbow, an exquisite puppet show based on Ted Prior’s much-loved character; screenings of Windmill Theatre’s hit production of Rumpelstiltskin starring Paul Capsis; and shows from Sunny Ray and the Magnificent Moon, The Listies and SplashDance.
Free courtyard activities like face painting and crafts will keep everyone happy between shows and movies.

Kids in the Park, Sydney Olympic Park
From basketball to netball, cricket, rugby league, soccer, tennis and everything in-between, kids will have a ball of a time at Sydney Olympic Park during the spring school holidays, with a Kids in the Park activities line-up that’s bound to have them bouncing with excitement!
Boasting more than 50 activities, including many FREE and plenty of fun options costing $25 or less per person, Kids in the Park spring 2017 will be on EVERY DAY of the school holidays from 23 September – 8 October (inclusive).
Leura Gardens Festival 2017
The 53rd Leura Gardens Festival promises to maintain the high standard of past festivals with several beautiful new gardens for visitors to enjoy as well as a good selection of old favourites.
The Upper Blue Mountains in the spring is a feast of new growth, masses of flowers, gorgeous bulbs and an amazing variety of cold climate plants including wonderful deciduous trees, which will just be coming into their full glory.

Butterfly Gardens, Royal Botanic Garden
Visit the Royal Botanic Garden and the Butterfly Gardens these school holidays from Monday 25 to Saturday 30 September.
Kids will learn about the special relationship between butterflies and flowers, and see the amazing new Pollination exhibition at The Calyx.
They’ll visit the Garden’s Pearl White butterfly colony, meet some silkworms and build their own miniature flower garden to attract butterflies and fairies to their homes!
